Your privacy is important to Hangad so we have established information handling practices for www.hangad.com. This privacy policy describes the practices that apply to our site, including personally identifiable information (Personal Information) we collect about you, when and how we collect that information, and what may happen to that information. We may need to change this policy from time to time in order to address new issues and reflect site changes, so please revisit this page every so often. We do not collect Personal Information about you on this site without your knowledge and permission, and all such information is collected directly from you. For example, we may ask you to provide your name, e-mail address, birthdate, location, or other information about yourself so you can participate in the discussion board, or be included in the HangadNews mailing list. You are not required to provide us with this information, but if you choose not to, you may be unable to participate in some activities or use some site features. In certain instances, we use cookies to store information that you have provided us.

We collect and maintain Personal Information to provide services to you and administer your relationship with us. For example, when you give us your e-mail address in order to receive news updates, that address is added to the mailing list. On each e-mail you receive, you are given the opportunity to unsubscribe; when you unsubscribe, we remove your e-mail address permanently from that mailing list. You are also given subscription options on the site itself. You may also edit your Personal Information through the Edit Profile feature.

No Personal Information collected on this site is shared with third parties, except that information may be shared with those with whom we contract to carry out the internal operations of the site. These contractors have agreed with us to use Personal Information of site visitors only for the purposes of carrying out these operations. In particular, we do not rent or sell mailing lists of site visitors to any third party. We will take reasonable steps to protect the security of the Personal Information we collect from you.

We try to keep the information we collect from you as current as possible, and we take steps to maintain the security of your Personal Information and to prevent unauthorized access to it by those who do not have a legitimate need for it. We will never post your e-mail address or other identifying information you have provided on our site without your consent.

We ask each visitor who wishes to participate in the discussion board on this site to provide an e-mail address along with the visitor's screen name. All such e-mail addresses are used only to protect the security and integrity of the site, such as to take action against visitors who post inappropriate material or harass other visitors.

Hangad.com does not accept registrations from children under the age of 13 due to the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act ("COPPA"). COPPA was enacted to prevent websites from collecting and/or distributing information from children without their parents' consent. In order to comply with the standards set forth in this Act, Hangad.com will suspend site registration by children under age 13 until reliable forms of parental consent can be implemented. The first time you visit Hangad.com, we send a cookie to your browser, which may then be stored on your system. (A cookie is a small amount of data, which often includes an anonymous unique identifier, that is sent to your browser from a web site's computers and stored on your computer's hard drive.) This cookie is only used on future visits to determine whether you have been to the site before. This cookie does not contain any Personal Information, and it is only used so that we can create aggregate statistics of "first time visitors" to the site. You will remain an otherwise anonymous "guest" of the site, unless you decide to register with Hangad.com.

You can always visit our site without revealing who you are or providing any Personal Information. When you visit our site or visit our site through one of our partner's sites, we do collect usage information ("session data"), but it is anonymous and is not linked to you as an individual. We use session data to better understand things like how our site is navigated, how many visitors arrive at specific pages, the length and frequency of stays at our site, the variety of searches of our site's database, the types of browsers and computer operating systems used by our visitors and the Internet Protocol addresses from which our visitors connect to our site. We use this information to improve our site content and ease of use.
